Written By DEXTER

Dexter is a pastor who enjoys reading and studying the Bible to inspire and empower others.

Dodie Osteen, seen as a mother in the Christian community, was healed from cancer over 40 years ago.

The doctors had given up on her and told her family they couldn’t do anything to save her life.

But Dodie wasn’t ready to die. She along with her husband, John put their faith to work by trusting God for healing, and God came through for Dodie.

Is Dodie Osteen death or is she still alive today?

Dodie Osteen is still alive today. She is the co-founder of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, and is still on fire 🔥 for Jesus Christ.

What is Dodie Osteen’s age

Dodie Osteen was born on October 9, 1932, which makes her age 88 as of 2021.

Dodie Osteen and Cancer

Dodie had nothing but the Word of God, and if she hadn’t believed and fought for her healing, she would have died.

That was the year 1981. Fast forward to the year 2022, and Dodie Osteen is still alive, vigorous, and cancer-free.

Praise God for his healing power that healed “mama Osteen,” as some call her.

The good news is that you too can be healed of cancer just like Dodie.

But it will take your active participation and willingness to understand the truth found in the scriptures and then put it into practice.

The Bible teaches that God does not wish for us to be ill, and He isn’t the cause of sickness, the devil is. God may permit sickness, but he is not its cause.

“God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” (Acts 10:38)

Believe me when I say that the devil doesn’t want you to know the truth found in scripture.

The devil would much prefer you not to know the truth and perish.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hosea 4:6).

The truth will set you free, and the first thing you need to know is that all sickness falls under the curse of the law.

” Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this book of the Law, will the Lord bring upon you until you are destroyed.”

(Deu 28:61. (The Lord will permit sickness to come on people because nothing evil can come from God; only perfect good things).

But in Galatians 3:13-14, we read: “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

As you can see, you’re no longer living under the curse of the law, which consists of sickness, poverty, and death, but you’ve been redeemed and can now receive the blessing of Abraham and the promise of the Spirit.

Sadly, not many people know that it’s God’s will to heal them, and this information is the difference between life and death.

God’s Word is truth; he cares for you, and if he can heal Dodie Osteen of cancer, he sure can heal you of any sickness or disease, whether cancer, arthritis, Alzheimer’s, small vessel disease, lupus, multiple sclerosis, or whatever you may be struggling with.

How God Healed Dodie Osteen from Cancer

Dodie Osteen was a devoted Christian, mother, devoted gospel minister, and pastor’s wife. She was usually in great shape, quite active, and bursting with enthusiasm. Her life was perfect, and she and her husband, John, were eager to take advantage of their newly acquired freedom now that all of their children had grown up.

But disaster struck, and in 1981, she was diagnosed with metastatic liver cancer. Moreover, Dodie found it difficult to accept that her doctors had given up on her and that she only had a few weeks to live.

The doctors informed the Osteen family that the only thing they could do for Dodie was to do exploratory surgery, but she would still pass away.

As a result, after spending 20 days in the hospital, Pastor Osteen carried his wife home because he was not going to let them experiment on her, knowing that she would still die. After all, there was nothing they could do to save her.

Things went from bad to worse when Dodie came home

On arriving home, Dodie needed to be taken care of; she required someone by her side at all times because her body and occasionally her mind prevented her from doing much.

As an onlooker back then, you would probably feel sorry for “mama Osteen” and would begin to believe that her condition was such that death was both the most likely and best conclusion.

Nevertheless, Dodie believed in healing, prayed, and fasted, as did her husband, her children, her parents, and her church.

She was even prayed for by faith healers including Kenneth Hagin, the T.L. Osborn, Oral Roberts, and Kenneth Copeland, but she was not healed.

She was still in excruciating pain, frail, and a long cry from the person she had been in good health.

“Your faith must go on now,” God said to Dodie.

One night, while everyone was asleep, in the early hours of the morning, the Lord spoke to her heart and said, ” It is not your husband’s faith; it is not Oral Roberts’ faith; it is not Kenneth Hagin’s faith; it is YOUR faith that must go on now.”

“The Fight of Faith”

Let me say this: There are no half measures when it comes to trusting God for healing. You’ll need to put everything on the line; it’s either God’s Word or nothing, like Dodie did to receive her healing.

For example, when Dodie got home, she informed her husband that they had no choice but to trust God to heal. They prayed the prayer of agreement on their first day back home after leaving the hospital.

The prayer of agreement: “Again, honestly, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven” (Matthew 18:19).

On that day, when they prayed, Dodie received healing in her heart. However, the symptoms were still there, and in fact, it took a long time to leave her body, but she believed in God with all her heart, and that was the difference between life and death.

Don’t act sick

Even though Dodie Osteen was sick, she continued to do the things she was so used to doing, which was another thing she did to help her battle cancer and strengthen her faith (house chores, visiting the sick, praying for the sick, attending church).

Even though she was extremely frail and nearly passed out while praying for a sick man, she persisted in giving of herself to others.

The key to getting your prayers manifested faster is by helping others while you are in need of help yourself. Luke 6:38 says, “Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over.”

James 5:16 says, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed….”

The word became her life.

In spite of “mama Osteen’s” constant confessions, cancer remained in her body, it refused to leave and lined up with Dodie’s confessions of healing, strength, and recovery.

But that did not stop Dodie from confessing God’s word over her life. She kept confessing the scripture to the point where God’s Word became her life.

She had absolute confidence in God’s Word. Hebrews 10:13 says, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised.”

The fight with fear

The devil said, “You will die. You only have a few weeks to live.” But Dodie said, “With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation (Psalm 91:16).

Many times, fear tried to overwhelm Dodie, but God’s Word was her strength and source of encouragement.

No more cancer

Today, Dodie is cancer-free, joyful, healthy, and leading a devoted life many years after the liver metastatic cancer disappeared. Glory to God for the wonderful things He has done.

Dodie chose to believe God’s Word and acted with faith”—you can choose to believe God and act in faith to experience God’s healing in your body like Dodie Osteen.

How do you pray for someone with cancer?

Your prayers ought to be focused on God’s Word rather than the situation of the person or their suffering. Ask God to grant them the ability to endure until their healing comes to pass.

Jesus' Healing Scriptures and the healings he performed

A short prayer for someone who has cancer

Father, in this trying time of my life, I pray for your support and direction. Develop my faith so that I can take your word at face value.

Give me the confidence and fortitude to proclaim your Word over my life each day.

Give me the courage to face my fear, and give me the assurance of your salvation to guide my decisions.

Touch me with your affection when I’m at my lowest, so I can feel your presence.

Help me to keep in mind that I have been delivered from the law’s curse and translated from darkness to light and from sickness to perfect health.

“Your words are final, and I pray that I may live each day with your imprint of love, truth, peace, and healing.”

Let me not forget to give and assist those who are in need, who are suffering, or who are experiencing various vicissitudes of life. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.
