  • by

God is with you, and whether you feel lost, sad, afraid, nervous, or in pain in the hospital before surgery, I want you to know that your heavenly Father will never leave or forsake you.

For this reason, allow these spiritual words of encouragement before surgery to bring joy, peace, and hope as you strengthen your faith in God by meditating on various faith Bible verses for surgery.

Other saints in Bible and saints today have turned to the scriptures to find help in seasons of trouble, and God came through for them.

Upon successful completion of this operation, I encourage you to keep building your faith with these Christian words of encouragement after surgery.

God can come through for you too. All He asks is that you have faith. And even if your faith is the size of a grain of a mustard seed, it’s still enough to access God’s promises.

“And He *said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible to you.” Matthew 17:20.

That said, here are ten spiritual words of encouragement from the Bible that you can read and meditate on before surgery.

Spiritual Words of Encouragement Before Surgery

The words that you’re about to read are more than religious words of encouragement; they are God’s words, and you can rest assured that every word will come to pass if only you believe.

Isaiah 41:10

Isaiah 41:10 – Spiritual encouragement for when you’re fearful of the unknown

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

The Good News: Fear is of the devil, and the intention is to manipulate and force you into thinking negatively about the outcome of the surgery and become anxious. But take comfort and fear not because the Lord will be with you to strengthen and uphold you with His right hand of righteousness.

Psalm 23:4

Psalm 23:4 – Spiritual encouragement for when you’re anxious

” Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

The Good News: Take a look at Philippians 4:6 “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

Your Heavenly Father doesn’t want you to be anxious; anything may cause you to become anxious: the difficulty level of the operation, fear of the outcome, or the doctor’s report. But take heart because God will go through the valley with you, and nothing will harm you.

Jeremiah 29:11

Jerimiah 29:11 – Spiritual encouragement for when you’re having bad dreams before surgery

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

The Good News: Remind yourself using this verse that God has a good plan for your life. Don’t allow bad dreams to scare you, but declare to yourself that you will live to proclaim the works of the Lord. (Psalm 118:17)

Deuteronomy 31:8

Deuteronomy 31:8 – Spiritual encouragement for when you feel lonely

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

The Good News: God is with you though you may not be seeing of feeling Him. Our Heavenly Father has promised not to leave or forsake you, and you can rest assured that He will be with you during surgery directing the tools and hands of the surgeons.

1 John 3:20

1 John 3:30 – Spiritual encouragement for when you feel guilty

“For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.”

The Good News: Be at peace with yourself and don’t beat up and condemn yourself because you feel that it’s your fault why your health has deteriorated the way it has.

Psalm 34:19

Psalm 34:19 – Spiritual encouragement for when you’re in pain

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”

The Good News: Be patient; this too will soon pass. The pain and agony; God knows it all, and He will bring you through it all.

Isaiah 43:2

Isaiah 43-2 – Spiritual encouragement for when you feel helpless and lost

“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”

The Good News: Be encouraged; this test may seem hard now, and you may feel hopeless, but don’t lose faith and hope because our Heavenly Father has already given you the victory.

Psalm 91

Psalm 91:4-5 – Spiritual encouragement for when you stressed

“4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day.”

The Good News: Don’t allow stress to overwhelm you but enter into the bosom of our Heavenly Father and find peace and rest for your soul.

Psalm 27:1

Psalm 27:1 – Spiritual encouragement for when you feel scared

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

The Good News: Do you remember what Romans 8:28-39 says? “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

You’re secured in Christ, and nothing can pluck you out from God; it is well.

Psalm 46:1-3

Psalm 46:1-3 – Spiritual encouragement for when you feel nervous

“1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.”

The Good News: Find shelter in God when you are nervous. Don’t pay attention to the negatives but allow your heart, soul, and mind to find rest in God.

Isaiah 54:10
