What does the Bible say about Peace in the Last Days?

By Faith Way

Are you wondering what the bible says about peace in the last days? In scripture, there is much mention of a coming kingdom that will be filled with justice, joy and peace which is often referred to as the “last days”. Throughout the Bible, there is a lot of discussion about the presence of peace in the midst of chaotic and difficult times.

What does the Bible say about Peace in the Last Days?

In the book of Isaiah, it says that in the last days the wolf will live with the lamb and that “they shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain” (Isaiah 11:6-9). There will be peace between the animals and they will no longer have to live in fear of being killed and abused.

Peace is also described as a time of spiritual peace and being filled with the presence of God. In the book of Revelation it talks about a time of “peace on earth” (Revelation 12:10-14) as the saints of God are gathered and no longer suffer from famine, war, or any other distress.

It is also promised that in the last days Jesus will come back in glory and “make all things new” (Revelation 21:1-5). This will include a total transformation and renewal of the Earth and a time of justice, joy and peace that will never end.

The Bible promises that in the last days, those who follow God will be given the hope of a new and everlasting peace. It speaks of a time when God’s peace and justice will be cast down upon the earth and it will be a prosperous place with no more war and suffering (Psalm 46:9-11).

We have much hope that the Bible promises peace in the last days. As we trust in God and have faith in His plans, we can look forward to a time when all people will be free from fear, pain and suffering. We can confidently look forward to a day when the wolves and the lambs will lie down together in perfect peace and when the “King of Peace” reigns supreme.

So let us take heart and prepare ourselves for the coming of the King of Peace by trusting in the One Who will restore peace and order in the last days.

The Coming Kingdom of Peace

The coming of a kingdom of peace is a major theme throughout the Bible, and the expectation of believers is that our world today can be radically transformed by a heavenly kingdom of perfect peace and justice. As we are promised in the Scripture, “the mountain of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and it shall be lifted up above the hills.” (Isaiah 2:2-4).

This coming kingdom of peace will bring rest and prosperity to all, with no more conflict, disease or danger. As the scripture says, “for unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6-7).

This promise of peace will be fulfilled through the restoration of God’s perfect will, and all will be united under His rule. Every nation and every creature will live in perfect harmony as we are all made in His image, and as we seek to use our skills and talents for the common good.

We can expect a time of divine intervention when all creatures will be reconciled and all will be transformed by grace. We will experience a perfect unity and love that comes from our Creator, Who beautifies all things with perfect love.

It is a promise that is not limited to a certain place or time, but that will permeate our world when Jesus returns to establish His kingdom of peace. We as believers have the amazing privilege to experience His perfect peace and justice here on Earth and bring it to others.

God’s Justice upon the Nations

The Bible speaks of the Lord’s justice having a special place in His plan for the last days. In the Psalms, we read that God is always keeping a “watch on the nations” and that He “governs the world in righteousness” (Psalm 67:1-3).

Furthermore, God promises that the Lord will judge each nation according to its deeds, whether or not it has followed His path of justice and righteousness. As it says, “the Lord will judge the people with equity” (Psalm 98:8-9).

This assurance of God’s justice is meant to be a comfort to those who have been oppressed or wronged. The Bible promises that “vengeance is Mine” (Isaiah 61:1-2), and that God will set things right in His perfect timing. It is a beautiful promise that offers much hope and strength to those who have endured pain, suffering and injustice in this world.

This justice from God will bring an end to all violence and suffering. As it says in Revelation, those who “conquer” or “overcome” the world will be blessed by God and receive a special blessing (Revelation 2:17-19). The Bible promises that for those who accept and trust in Him, there will be perfect justice and an end to oppression.

This promise encourages us to declare justice for those around us, to seek righteousness and to expect God’s deliverance. Let us be vigilant in trusting that the Lord will bring justice and peace in the last days.

The Times of Rejoicing

The Bible speaks of a time of joy and rejoicing that will take place in the last days. In Isaiah we read of a coming day when people will “rejoice with joy and singing” and “praise the Lord with joyful songs” (Isaiah 25:5-7). It is a promise of a time of peace and comfort, when God’s presence will be felt in all creation.

The Bible also speaks of a time when all of creation will be restored. In Ezekiel there is a beautiful promise, “the wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox” (Ezekiel 34:25). This promise speaks of the permanent peace of God upon His people, and an end to all war and destruction.

The book of Revelation speaks of a new heaven and a new earth, when all suffering and sorrow will be forgotten, and the former things will pass away. There will be food of plenty and no more fear of famine, and people will be freed from all their labors (Revelation 21:1-7). It is a promise of a time of rest and joy, when all worries are forgotten.

We can hope in these promises and rejoice knowing that God has a perfect plan for the last days. We can look forward to a time when our deepest needs are met, and all enemies will be reconciled in the peace that will come through Jesus.

The Land of Rest

In the last days, there will come a time of perfect rest and peace, when the work of redemption is completed and God’s kingdom is established on earth. Isaiah speaks of a day when “a man shall be as a hiding place from the wind and a cover from the tempest” (Isaiah 32:1-2).

The prophet Ezekiel promises a time when all will be “like a garden of Eden” (Ezekiel 36:15) and the Lord will be a refreshing fountain of living water to those who come to Him. In the last days, the Lord will be present in a special way, fulfilling the Lord’s promises of provision, protection, and rest.

The Psalms also tell us that the Lord will be a refuge in times of trouble and that He Himself will guide us when we are surrounded by darkness. We are promised a time of perfect peace, when “God will wipe away every tear from our eyes” (Psalm 23:4).

The last days promise a place of rest for all those who come to the Lord and trust Him with their hope. The Lord knows the difficulties and sufferings of each person, and it is His desire to grant us His perfect peace.

So let us look forward to the last days and have hope in the promise of rest and peace that the Lord will bring. Let us trust in Him and wait patiently for His perfect plan to be fulfilled.
